Jan '99 --.Another new year - you might expect that with all the litigation , striking off , whistle blowing and the emergence of bright new idealistic doctors -- these pages would run out of material. But sadly , human nature being chaotic , stupid and corrupt it does look as if there will be ample material to keep us busy for another year. Anyway happy new year to all our visitors. ***************** Clozapine which was a drug withdrawn because it caused so many deaths. It was reintroduced -- subject to strict monitoring as it severely decreased white blood cells. This dangerous drug is still causing deaths [? how many ? ] . Its side effects include severe epilepsy.
Its withdrawal , if white cell count drops , can cause a seriously psychotic state --- this in a drug to treat psychosis!!!. Something wrong here. *************** Consultant S. Walker , of Blackpool Victoria Hospital , has been suspended . A 140 operations history is being reviewed after colleges , expressed deep concern over his work. The matter was kept quiet and only emerged into the light of day at an inquest on a patient who died. *********** Vincristine is a name with a long history !! . Going back , at least , to 1991 when two doctors were convicted of manslaughter. They wrongly injected vincristine into the spine of a 16 yr old leukaemia patient and killed him. Since 1991 there have been at least six cases of vincristine being wrongly injected into the spine and of those six cases 4 have died. the latest was Ritchie William. In this case the doctors who injected were not convicted. ************** James Green was left brain damaged when he was given a transfusion of A Negative , rather than the correct O positive cells. This at the age of 3 days , because he was jaundiced. [ perhaps if hospitals can't get their act together they would be better advised to leave well alone ] . James has now been awarded some 2 1/2 million pounds , but I'm sure his parents would rather have had a jaundiced baby , than a brain damaged baby. ******** The Gulf War Syndrome whitewash goes on !!!. A study in the 'Lancet' FUNDED BY THE U.S. DEPT OF DEFENCE , has found ,surprise - surprise , that tho' servicemen from the Gul War suffered more illness than ex-Bosnian personnel , there was no single cause AND THEREFORE NO SYNDROME!!. The men believe , backed by expert medical opinion , that the cocktail of vaccines and anti gas pills were largely responsible. As with all illness the symptoms show up along the path of least resistance in the individual body. But the U.S Pharmaceutical companies who produced the vaccines and tablets , probably provided the finance that funded the study - which [surprise - surprise ] exonerates them from all blame. ************** Let's economise - we cannot afford luxuries. We can afford plumped up bonus's for consultants whose scalpel leads to the death of young babies [as per Wishart & co at Bristol ] but when it comes to properly equipping & servicing ambulences then strict criteria are applied. Thus West Kent Healt Authority has now to pay £1,650,000 to the parents of Esther Hamil , a baby who was left severely disabled and blind after the oxygen supply to the incubator , in her ambulance ran out before it reached the hospital !!. ********* At last the Bristol scandal is being investigated - to cover not only the babies who died - but also those babies who were left brain damaged and otherwise disabled. Perhaps those consultants who consider God as an inferior being will be quietly eased into retirement at last. **********. Whilst the idea of cervical [smear ] screening is good in principle its like the curate's egg in practice. Bad in parts. The East Kent Authority has paid out over £1,000,000 to women whose abnormalities should have been detected but were missed. Some 91,000 smears were recalled for retest. ************ . Money is more important than patient care. Agency nurses with bad records are sent out to relieve the shortage of efficient nurses , due to low wages. Here we are back in 'alice in wonderland ' . Good nurses leave the NHS because they are not paid enough. They are then replace on an ad hoc basis by incompetent nurses at inflated agency rates. In one case an agency nurse spent most of the night shift wrapped in a blanket - told one patient " Act your age and pull yourself together " two other patients said they were given the wrong medicine, In another case the Supervisor wrote to the agency " I would like to express my concerns regarding the safety of patients being compromised by the BNA agency nurse on Monday night " . When a patient collapsed and died the agency nurse failed to take any action - when prompt action may have saved a life. Despite lack of any midwifery training the same nurse was sent to the post natal dept of another hospital. ******************* Ethics and money rarely mix. So called Ethical Drug Trials , have very dubious credentials. Because American drug trials are so strictly controlled Pharmaceutical Companies are coming to Britain to test organophosphate pesticidals on paid volunteers , mostly students. Bearing in mind the scandal over sheep dip's with organo phosphates and also the fact that some defence dept's have tried to blame Gulf War Syndrome on organophosphates , it seems bad that drug trials of the same substance are offered to students for cash. ******* At last the materialist medical school of science may be coming round to the view that humans are an interface between material flesh and non material life force. The science of psycho-neuro-immunology is knocking on the doors of incredulity. One Californian surgeon , prior to operating asked patients not to bleed too much. It was shown that people treated in this way lost less than half the exepected amount of blood. People who can see trees from their hospital bed go home sooner than those who can't. Maybe there's hope for orthodox medicine yet ?, ********. Stephen Williams of Devizes Wilts , was a bright lad, Passed 12 GCE's - but at 19 he died of nvCJD/BSE. His favorite food was sausages and he liked beefburgers !!. Living endangers your health. But tons of beefburgers and sausages are consumed daily - why not more cases of CJD. There must be a natural resistance in most of us. In cases like Stephen there must be a path of least resistance that leads to the neurological triggers that spark CJD off. So in all of us there are paths of least resistance, In one they lead to IBS , in another to leukaemia , in a third to asthma and so on. All of these paths are made easier and wider by the factors of [ a :stress ] [ b: vaccines ] [ c : antibiotics ] , but all are part of our genetic inheritance. Meddication is also a danger to your health and what may make you better in the short term may damage your long term health.!! ************ . Amercans hate to be second at anything , but it is to their credit that they were second only to the Lyons team in transplanting a hand from a dead donor to Matt Scott , in Louisville, But in questioning the wisdom of the operation we got for the First time , a statement that transplanting a non vital body part may be unwise " BECAUSE OF THE RISKS FROM POWERFUL ANTI-REJECTION DRUGS " , These drugs are dangerous because they suppress and almost certainly damage the immune system. **************** . It means that it is easy to " scientifically " deny that the many facets of the Gulf War Syndrome and say the the Syndrome does not exist. All fine and dandy on paper . Pretty horrific when individuals are considered. John Callaghan age 27 - the prime of life - was found hanged in prison. He had been "zombified" by the war , and was " no longer my son " his father told the coroner. After 4 months in the Gulf John Callaghan , who;d had the usual vaccines and antigas tablets , returned with headaches , nausea , and inability to speak , combined with manic / depressive episodes. As we said above - medication can damage your health !!. ********* . Unwitting probably describes most of human action. Only years later do we start to see the results of our good intentions , truly the road to wherever , is paved with them. In the UK our water supplies tend to be subject to outbreaks of an organism -- cryptosporidium. To quote the book ' healthy immune systems deal with this intestinal infection .' But what happens when it is subjected to antibiotic treatment ?. Is it possible that it may mutate like other organisms. Then ejected into the ocean attack the delicate corals?. ********. Chloride ion channels are in the news. It seems that cancer cells pump out chlorides in order to shrink and thus migrate through the structure of the brain. The desert scorpion may have provided a substance that can be targetted on cancer cells that use this strategy. But has any one thought if any part of this work applies to cystic fibrosis ?. ************* . Viagra has finally brought health rationing out of the shadows. About time !. Rationing may be the thing that breaks the deadly spiral where the NHS treatments of many ills simply obliterate symptoms but leave the basic problem unsolved. Only to emerge at a later date as a serious [ and expensive ] condition. !!!.

Jun/Jul '98 ******** 8 women died and 30 more had major surgery when pre - cancer cells were undetected in smear tests. Over 91.000 women tested from 1990/5 had to be retested. ********* Interesting upcoming result to watch for - in the department of Experience NEVER Teaches. The Leukemia Research fund is financing a genetic cancer vaccine to the tune of £750,000. Point of interest is that the vaccine is being fixed to a tetanus toxin to increase the strength of the immune response. Where have we heard of this before ? - ---it was used in the preparations and vaccines that led to the devastating Gulf War Syndrome. Watch this space . *********************** The UK Medical Defense Union's survey shows that complaints against Doctors more than doubled in the last year - up from 557 in 1996 to 1,194 in 1997 . Must be a pretty busy bunch - the MDU!. Another eight victims of growth hormone treatment won their cases and compensation of £1,000,000. This brings to twenty the total who have died after treatment with natural growth hormone. Some 2,000 were treated between 1959/1985. 27 dead so far and set to rise as the problem can take up to 30 years to incubate! Sound familiar ? The first " slow virus" was Kuru - the most notorious AIDS. Time someone linked nv [new variety] CJD and its Prion contamination with BSE and all the 'slow' diseases - there must be a spectrum. ************* How much do you rely on expert medical advice ?. The parents of a dead girl , who had been born severely handicapped were told by a doctor that they had to establish a sleeping pattern and leave the 12 yr old epileptic with cerebral palsy to put her to bed and ignore cries, and screams. The first night they followed the advice they found her at 6 am dehydrated and hyperventilating within an hour she stopped breathing and died. It has taken 4 yrs to get the Authority to admit liability and pay £100,000. ******* World bacteria expert S. Levy of Tufts University Boston warns that impregnating domestic items with anti bacterials is a danger to FUTURE health!!. Dr. J Hood of Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and says " the more you use a substance the quicker the bugs will acquire immunity to it !!." Antibiotics and tranquilizers have already been shown to damage and vaccines will soon follow. ************* The American Home Products drugs group has been forced to withdraw it's new pain killer 'Duract' after it was linked to four deaths and eight emergency liver transplants. Years ago it was shown that codine and other similar pain killers have bad effects on the liver and digestive system . AHP is already facing legal actions that could cost up $9 billion after side effects created by two anti obesity drugs. ************** Dept. of Medicine is About Money - not patient care!!. A Wigan GP 'struck off' [refused to treat] 3 related families after one member complained that a doctor in the practice had upset her daughter by telling her that she should not still be breast feeding her 9 month old baby. A 32 week pregnant Essex woman was struck off after requesting a home birth. A man man who had been with one practice in Fife for 30 yrs was struck off after complaining about the advice he was give on immunization prior to traveling abroad. As an anonymous medic stated in an article - " Medicine is best understood not as a service to patients , but as a hobby for doctors " . A humane Health Service will not happen until these attitudes are rooted out.

Payments by the Medical Defense Union [ representing 80,000 GP's and hospital doctors. ] are up by 15% 0n 1997. *********** Pregnant Californian Suzy Hagstrom was awarded £400,000 after a 'botched ' operation in the Royal Surrey County Hospital. After an ultrascan she was told the baby was dead!. An operation was then done to clear the remains of the "dead" baby. This operation "inadvertently " punctured her uterus and small bowel. This mistake led to a series of operations in which she lost her appendix and eight inches of her small bowel. A new ultrascan showed that the baby was still alive !! This tenacious little feller was named Christen. ********** Viagra [ the Hard On Pill ] is reported to cause vision defects !!! At the worst it can make you go blind ! Well, well . nanny was right it CAN make you go blind !!. ************ Karen Murray , a 19 yr old on holiday in Corfu died of a heart attack , which was caused by surgical debris left in her body after an operation " several years ago " . Hospitals are dangerous places. ************* The Prof. who chairs the British Diabetic Assoc , commented on Type 1 insulin dependent diabetes mellitus. Common in childhood it is due to the auto immune system attacking the pancreas. There are many instances of the body attacking itself - why? - because when vaccines are injected some of the attenuated virus takes refuge in cells of the body , where macrophage cannot reach. Until the immune system gets fed up and settles the matter by destroying the offending cells. Is there any research directed to proving or disproving this point . After the 'bugs' finding their way round antibiotics with such ease that they can convert to use the antibiotic as food!!. Vancomycin the most powerful recent antibiotic was examined by a virus , which then rearranged its DNA so that it could live on the antibiotic using it as food. **************** We now have the first reports of the C strain of meningococcus [ related to the neisseria family which includes gonococcus!! ] which is unaffected by the vaccine directed specifically at it. In Ironville Yorks " Despite a mass immunization last year children are coming down with the C strain of meningitis" ..*******************. On the subject of Doctors with a God Complex --- the sacked Chief of the National Blood Authority is reported as being responsible for a service that had " insufficient regard for the views of customers, staff and patients" . In experiments where pregnant women were given radioactive iodine a study is being carried out to look at the increase in cancers. The GMC found that the three -- risked babies lives by continuing heart operations while the death rates were well above average. Of 53 operations , 33 either died or were brain damaged.
